Certified Pharmacy Technician
Employers prefer you to be a Certified Pharmacy Technician
The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) was established in January 1995, to create one consolidated voluntary national certification program for pharmacy technicians. To be eligible to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination, you must have a high school diploma or GED, and have never been convicted of a felony. If you pass the exam you become a certified pharmacy technician and may use the designation "CPhT" after your name. PTCB's certification is a national certification that is valid nationwide. However, regulations by state do vary, so it is wise to find out more about the rules for practicing technicians in your state. The educators on this site are willing to send you complimentary information on their programs and happy to answer any questions you may have. Click on the links below to get started.
