Surgery Technician

If You Like Teamwork, Explore a Career as a Surgery Technician

Surgery Technicians are generally employed by hospitals, and work in operating and delivery rooms. As a Surgery Technician, you will work under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel. Every team member is critical during surgical procedures: you will need to know proper surgical asepsis before, during, and after surgical intervention; recognize basic instrument sets (major, minor, and plastic); be able to position patients with ease and knowledge; be aware of the general set up of both the mayo tray and back table; and function effectively as members of a surgical team.
